Swimming: Why is so good?

Swimming works all muscles in the human body, it's one of the most complete exercises. Swimming can improve a swimmer's general strength, cardiovascular fitness, endurance, posture and flexibility all at the same time.
Swimming improves your body’s use of oxygen without pushing hardly your heart. It does not help with bone density, you need to do weight lifting exercise for that, anyway, swimming is a very good sport to be on shape.
